We snuck out for a weekend away in raliegh, nc to celebrate a friend’s wedding.
Note: this couple got married Friday morning in the backyard of a family home. Friday evening was a casual celebration with pig-roast and toasts. Saturday we hung out with the newly-weds watching football and drinking beer. Then everyone split ways to dress up for a fancy party in downtown raliegh in a hidden restaurant patio, complete with magical lighting and a toe-tapping bluegrass band. It seemed like a pretty smart, and sweet, way to say “i do.”
I found some time away from the lazy, beer drinking afternoon to explore a bit.
First things, first – this card is just too funny not to share! I was glad to run into Near Modern Disaster based out of durham, nc.
I found the card while visiting Raleigh Denim Workshop – I was giddy when I happened upon this must-see spot which I’d read was something to visit while in the city. It’s just as cozy with American-made, hard working, hand-crafted goodness as you would expect.
Note: groom got a pair of britches and bride got a one-of-a-kind necklace. sigh. sweetest wedding day ever.
Another *Sweet* spot I happened upon was the Videri Chocolate Factory which has been featured many times in Southern Living as a hot spot to visit in raleigh. I went alone, which meant I could sneak as many samples as I desired and spend my time taking in this savvy, inspiring little chocolate factory.
Back with the beer boys, we played a few games at the Boxcar Bar + Arcade. Let me tell you something I’m terrrrrible at. Nintendo. What is up with that? My little dino got stuck for a full 2-3 minutes on the race track – press Bbbbbb…. right?!
I’m pretty bad a$$ at Frogger, but there was no Atari in sight.
We started the day with brunch at Joule truly delightful, but what I leave you with here is the little coffee pot {{HAPPY NAT. COFFEE DAY!}} filled with flowers there on the hostess table. We should bring that home and try it for ourselves!
